Veronica spicata 'Royal Candles' (Spike Speedwell)

$28

We love this plant! In fact, we are big fans of all of the Veronica candles plants that we carry. They are just so striking and attractive. The deep purple blossom spikes of this perennial make it easy to see why it is named 'Royal Candles.' Bright green and wonderfully shaped foliage makes for a perfect combination. Blooms start as early as late spring (when our bloom photos were taken here in Oregon), and go throughout summer depending on growing conditions. We recommend trimming spent blooms and foliage to stimulate new blossoming.

Butterflies will show their attraction to these beautiful plants, which grow to about 1' tall and 16" wide. Its compact size makes it extremely versatile, and it is easy to grow. Place them in full sun and plant them about 10" apart. This veronica is deer and rabbit resistant, salt tolerant (good for coastal gardens), and hardy to -30°F when protected from windchill.
