True Blue

$34

True Blue was hybridized right here in Oregon, and it is actually more of a lavender blue color. The wavy blossoms of True Blue have a light purple throat and a dark purple pattern on the dorsal. The conical trusses of this yak hybrid rhododendron can hold 21 to 25 flowers! With long somewhat olive green leaves, this plant makes an impression in any garden.

True Blue can grow up to 5' and is hardy to 10°F when protected from windchill (although we've seen it claimed to be hardy to 5°F). Give full sun to partial shade and watch for blooms typically start around May, although our bloom photos were taken at the end of April.
