True Blood

True Blood features stunning deep red flowers that make up a fantastic rounded full truss. This rare hybrid rhododendron from Harold Greer features a black pattern that uniquely covers all pedals (most patterns or blotches are only on the upper dorsal). This plant is definitely a 'thrill' piece in the thrill, fill and spill garden design.

True Blood generally blooms April through May, depending on growing conditions. Our bloom photos were taken in late April and early May. You will want to plant in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. It grows to 6' tall x 6' wide at maturity and is hardy to 5°F when protected from windchill.
