Rocky Knoll Farm
Silver Carpet Lamb's Ear
Soft and lovely leaves collectively form a silvery matting of foliage that make for an attractive low-growing ground cover. This herbaceous perennial can reach about 10" tall and spreads out to about 1.5' wide. You can see from our photos why it is known as Lamb's Ear, and that it has a unique look that will add character as a border or in a planter.
It is deer resistant, rabbit resistant, drought resistant (once roots are established), and it tolerates various soil types. This plant very rarely has a bloom, which is insignificant as it is prized for its special foliage. We recommend watering deeply when young to help establish roots, but avoid leaving its roots in standing water. This great plant loves full sun and is hardy to -25° when protected from windchill.
