$34

Sand Myrtle is a low-growing evergreen shrub with attractive green ovate leaves that change hues as weather turns cold, making for a multi-season delight. Also known as Kalmia buxifolia or Mountain Myrtle, it has tiny pink buds that open to white flowers and pink pistils in late spring and early summer.

This shrub is native to eastern United States, and is an excellent choice for ground cover, rock gardens, container growing, urban gardens, slopes and beds. Sand Myrtle is the winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society. It is somewhat slow growing but can reach up to 3' tall and spreads up to 5' wide at maturity, and does best with partial shade to deep shade. You will need to plant in well-draining soil. Cold hardy to -10°F when protected from windchill.
