Rocky Knoll Farm
A wonderful rhododendron species varietal, people always delight in the incredibly bluish-purple blossoms against the sage-tone foliage. We actually love this foliage with its tiny elliptic leaves covered in dense shiny textured scales, and a countering reddish brown scales on the underside. This species, which originally grew at 12k-15k feet elevation, makes for a great addition to small growing areas and is hardy to -5°F when protected from windchill. Plant in partial shade to full sun and water weekly as needed. This is a small plant and a dwarf grower can reach about 3' tall.
