Podophyllum 'Spotty Dotty'

Also known as Mayapple, Podophyllum Spotty Dotty has been a highly desirable, yet hard to find, shade garden plant with incredible character. We are proud to offer them at Rocky Knoll Farm, when we can keep them in stock. Its massive spotted leaves create a canopy for deep crimson-maroon dangling blooms, which typically emerge April-May, depending on growing conditions. 

Spotty Dotty is easy to grow in part shade to full shade and well-draining (preferably acidic) soil. These herbaceous perennials grow to around 1.5' tall x 2.5' wide. They are cold hardy to -10°F when protected from windchill. 

PLEASE NOTE: These are rare specialty plants that are sensitive. In the off season they will ship with little to no foliage. Once foliage appears, some dry spots can occur during shipping. This is normal and not an indication of plant health. The key to these plants is in the roots. We guarantee all of our plants arrive healthy, but we cannot guarantee pristine foliage out of the box for these plants.
