Deep purple tubular blossoms stand out against the rich green foliage of this bold penstemon. Sour Grapes is a favorite among butterflies, hummingbirds and bees alike, and it usually blooms throughout the summer. It is a winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society. This perennial likes lots of sun, only needs occasional watering once established and is great for floral arrangements.

We recommend cutting back expired flower heads to encourage more blooms throughout the season. Sour Grapes penstemon generally grows to about 2' tall and 18" wide. It is hardy to 0°F when protected from windchill.
