Lovely Nova Zembla is known not only for its beauty, but also for its hardiness. It is rated as both sun and heat tolerant, which is not common for rhododendrons. When bloomed, its lovely red-pink trusses with patterned dorsal give off a glow in sunlight.
This remarkably cold-resistant plant usually blooms around May. It grows to 5' tall at maturity. Nova Zembla is incredibly resilient to cold as it is hardy to -25°F when protected from windchill.
