Nassella tenuissima (Mexican Feather Grass)

$26

Mexican Feather Grass grows to a uniquely light foliage that billows in the slightest breeze, giving motion as well as visual character to gardens. Originally from South America, this grass is now considered native to areas of southwestern United States and central Mexico. It grows well in well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade. We recommend cutting back foliage in late winter after the last frost to promote healthy spring growth habit.

Feathery silver-yellow blooms start to show June to September depending on growing conditions, and the foliage changes from green to golden hues into fall. It generally grows to about 2' tall x 2' wide, but can spread on its own given the right conditions. It is deer resistant, drought tolerant once established, and hardy to 0°F when protected from windchill.

Our 1 gallon grasses are rooted, fertilized and ready to burst with new growth. Some grasses grow very tall and change in size rapidly across seasons. If you order a grass that is very tall at the time, we will trim it as needed for shipping.
