Rocky Knoll Farm
Martin 241 is a very rare hybrid rhododendron. In fact, most nurseries have never even heard of it. The prolific and vibrant deep red blooms are uniquely accented by a black pattern near the upper dorsal, as well as distinct black anthers. The rich green foliage makes for excellent skirting. This lovely rhododendron has a nice rounded growth habit that can reach about 4' tall and 4' wide when mature.
Martin 241 is hardy to 5°F when protected from windchill. Place in full sun to partial shade and watch for blooms around May, depending on growing conditions. Our bloom photos were taken at the end of May here in Oregon. If you want a unique red rhododendron that nobody else that you know has in their garden, this would be a great choice.
