Lonicera pileata - Privet Honeysuckle

$26

This showy, low-growing honeysuckle shrub is great for slopes, banks, borders, hedges, mass planting and ground cover. It is easy to grow, deer resistant, drought tolerant once established, and salt tolerant, making it good for coastal growing. Lonicera pileata can be pruned directly after flowering and shaped to hedge or some topiary.

It does get tiny light yellowish-white flowers in late spring to early summer, which are not significant but are fragrant. It can grow to 3' tall and up to 8' wide. Hardy to -5°F when protected from windchill. It does well in full sun to partial shade, but make sure it has well-draining soil. This plant has small purplish berries that can be toxic.
