This fragrant rhododendron hybrid from Don Wallace has prolific trusses, with white to pink frilly blooms. The blossoms have a dark crimson spotting on the upper dorsal for a nice contrast. We really like the textured look as the white petals transition to the rose pink. This is a relatively early bloomer. Our bloom photos were taken in early April.
The deep dark green foliage makes an ideal skirting to make the flowers really stand out. New growth has an attractive indumentum. It grows to around 5' tall x 6' wide at maturity. It has not been registered with cold hardiness, but it is estimated to be cold hardy to 0°F when protected from windchill. Place in full sun to partial shade.
