Italian Culinary Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
Italian oregano is a fragrant delight, that may be the best pollinator perennial we have seen. Butterflies and bees simply love this plant! It is an essential ingredient and flavor for Italian cuisine, and it is a wonderful addition to herb gardens, patio containers, beds, slopes, borders, and mediterranean gardens. Prized for its herbaceous foliage, Italian oregano has little white flowers that show throughout summer.
Easy to grow and low maintenance, Origanum vulgare has an attractive mounding growth habit. It can grow to about 2' tall x 2' wide, and is hardy to -10°F when protected from windchill. We recommend placing them about 18"-24" apart, and in full sun.
