With its dense compact growth and evergreen foliage, Ilex crenata 'Helleri' is an ideal choice for hedges, borders, slopes, small spaces, and container growing. It generally grows to around 3' tall x 4' wide, but can be easily pruned to size. We recommend pruning in late winter or early spring, before new seasonal growth begins. 

This low maintenance, deer-resistant shrub thrives in full sun to partial shade. Insignificant white blooms and fruits are infrequently produced. Be sure to plant in well-draining, slightly acidic soil for best rooting results. Hardy to -20°F when protected from windchill.
