Goshiki False Holly (Osmanthus heterophyllus)

$32

This dramatic evergreen shrub boasts loads of both color and texture. Goshiki means five colors in Japanese, which is what you get with this lovely plant. The variegated foliage emerges with red hues and turn toward green with creamy white accents and other tones in between.

Osmanthus heterophyllus has tiny white fragrant blooms that can begin to appear in late summer or early fall. Visually, they are considered insignifcant. People really like this plant for accents or as hedge. It is the recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.

Goshiki False Holly can reach about 5' tall over time and 4' wide, but can be pruned as you like. Hardy to about -5°F when protected from windchill, it will do best in well-draining soil. It is deer resistant.
