Fabiana imbricata 'Violacea'

$26

Also known as Chilean Heather (or False Heather), this splendid evergreen shrub offers a unique appearance to any garden or landscape. Its lovely flared tip violet flowers are lightly fragrant and really delight the senses. We generally see blooms start around May and go through summer. While it has great heather-like foliage, it is not actually part of the Heather family.

Hummingbirds, butterflies and bees really like this plant. Additionally, it is deer and rabbit resistant, and drought tolerant once established. It is no surprise that it was awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Fabiana imbricata has an upright growth habit that quickly reaches 5' to 8' tall x 4' to 6' wide, depending on growing conditions. It likes full sun and requires well-draining soil. Hardy to 5°F when protected from windchill.
