Rocky Knoll Farm
Crescent City Gold (R. occidentale SM30)
These hard to find Smith-Mossman deciduous azaleas are not only lovely, but highly fragrant. The beautiful white flowers have yellow-gold centers that spread into the upper dorsal and petals. Blooms usually start around June, depending on growing conditions.
Crescent City Gold has an upright growth habit that can reach about 8' tall at maturity. It is an excellent coastal grower and requires well-draining soil. Place in full sun to partial shade. Hardy to -10°F when protected from windchill.
