Caryopteris 'Worcester Gold' (Bluebeard)

$26

Appropriately named for its gold to chartreuse foliage, which is also nicely aromatic, this great caryopteris really stands out in any garden. The deep blue flowers against the bright leaves make a sightly statement. The blossoms are also fragrant, and very attractive to butterflies and bees!

Blooms generally show throughout summer and into fall, depending on growing conditions. Excellent for cut floral arrangements, garden accent and texture enhancement, borders, container growing, and mass planting. This plant is a winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.

Worcester Gold has a nice clump growth habit that can grow over 3' tall and about 3' wide. This is an easy-to-grow shrub that is deer and rabbit resistant, and is both heat and drought tolerant once established. You'll want to plant in well-draining soil and full sun. Hardy to -20°F when protected from windchill. We recommend cutting back substantially (down to as far as 3" stems) after the last winter frost to promote strong new spring growth.
