Burgundy Lace
$36
Burgundy Lace is another excellent rhododendron hybrid from Frank Fujioka with extra frilly-edged flowers. Each flower has a striking deep-reddish purple edge and white center, which is accented by a bright yellow-orange blotch on the upper dorsal. This plant produces dense ball-shaped trusses with up to 25 blooms each. Blooming generally starts around April depending on growing conditions.
Burgundy Lace is an elepidote with long, semi-glossy deep green foliage. It grows to around 4' tall x 4' wide at maturity. Plant in full sun to partial shade and well-draining (preferrably acidic) soil. Hardy to -15°F when protected from windchill.
