Rocky Knoll Farm
Blue Angel
$34
A rhododendron that was hybridized in coastal Oregon, Blue Angel has lavender edged blossoms that fade to a pale center. The dorsal petal boasts an incredible bright yellow pattern that grabs attention in any garden. The dark green elongated foliage makes for an excellent skirting for the bountiful trusses.
Blue Angel is hardy to -15°F when protected from windchill, and this plant can eventually grow to 6' tall. Plant in partial shade to full sun and watch for midseason blooms, usually around May (that is when we took our bloom shots here in Oregon).
