Blaney’s Blue

$32

This rhododendron offers misty blue flowers and fine foliage with bronze winter color foliage, which makes for a vibrant look in multiple seasons. It usually blooms around April and is best in partial shade, but can do full sun in cooler climates.

This hybrid is one our most popular of the blue rhododendrons. Blaney's Blue can grow to around 5' tall at maturity. It is hardy to -5° F.

PLEASE NOTE: Many blue-purple lepidote rhododendrons naturally develop spotting on older foliage as they emerge from winter. This is a normal seasonal characteristic, not a sign of poor plant health. As the growing season progresses, plants produce fresh new growth and gradually shed older leaves.

These are exceptional, fully evergreen plants that may appear almost semi-evergreen in late winter due to this natural leaf turnover.

Additionally, this condition reflects that our plants are fully hardened-off, having been grown outdoors in the elements rather than sheltered in a greenhouse. This results in stronger, more resilient plants that are well-prepared to thrive in your garden.
