A dramatic range of crimson hues of the foliage and dense growth habit make this shrub and excellent choice to mix with other plants that have green or yellow foliage. Also fantastic as a standalone in any garden with its great character. This plant is easy to grow and versatile. Place it near water features, as a hedgerow, border or mass planting. It loves lots of sun and needs to be watered regularly in the summer.
Hardy to -20°F when protected from windchill. Crimson Pygmy Barberry grows to about 2' tall and 3' wide. It does get very small yellow-white blossoms in spring with a mild fragrance, but this plant is all about the foliage. Deer resistant but mind the thorns.
