This great rhododendron has delightfully fragrant foliage and bark, which is generally unique for rhododendrons. Barto Alpine has incredible foliage with upright growth. The range of purple colors of the flowers all along the upward-growing stems provide an attractive appeal.
Early mid-season blooms tolerate moderate to full sun. Barto Alpine is a dwarf hybrid that grows to around 3' tall at maturity. Hardy to -10°F when protected from windchill.
