The exquisite blooms of this maple leaf-shaped perennial are just special, and they offer an incredible spectacle when viewed from the side or from below. Very few plant blooms offer such a different and incredible display from two directional views. Technically considered a tropical perennial, it actually can be hardy to 20°F when protected from windchill. In northern climates, it is best to offer winter storage or protection. It does well in full to partial sun and watering weekly or more in extreme heat.

Once established, these plants can bloom almost year-round (our pictures were taking in late October) depending where planted. The abutilon plants are loved by butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. These fast growers have an attractive rounded growth habit and can get to well over 6' tall and 5' wide, but can be pruned as desired. This is a versatile plant that can be used for borders, container growing, mass planting and slopes.
