Iberis sempervirens ‘Purity’

$26

Also known as Candytuft, this lovely perennial has bright white flowers with little yellow centers that sit atop rich green foliage. These low-growing beauties are excellent for ground cover, high-elevation growing, coastal gardens, rock gardens, planters, beds, borders, and accents. These plants pretty much look great year-round, and blooms generally start showing in May and into summer, depending on growing conditions. Butterflies and bees really seem to like this plant.

Low maintenance and easy to grow, Iberis Purity is deer and rabbit resistant, drought tolerant once established, and is humidity and salt tolerant. It does best in full sun and may bloom less in shady spots. You will want to plant it in well-draining soil.

Trimming spent flowers can stimulate new blooms, and pruning the plant to 4"-6" at the end of winter (after the last frost) can promote healthy spring growth. Iberis Purity grows to around 8" tall x 18" wide. Hardy to -30°F when protected from windchill. While generally considered evergreen, Iberis Purity can be semi-evergreen in colder climates.
