Aptly named, Fragrantissimum is most well-known fragrant rhododendrons that has been around for over 150 years. The original version is a winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society. This 'improved' version is vastly superior with a much more compact growth habit (less leggy than the original).

It's attractive flowers of white have magenta accents and a yellow throat. Blooms typically show around April depending on growing conditions. Fragrantissimum Improved grows to around 3' tall x 3' wide at maturity. Plant in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. It is known to be rabbit resistant and hardy to 15°F when protected from windchill.
